The Non Metallic Expansion Joints are installed between two fixed supports. The Non Metallic expansion joint consist of metal frames connected by fabric membrane one on upstream side of flow and another on downstream side of flow covering the entire flange to flange gap as mentioned by customer.

The Non Metallic Expansion joints do not transmit reactionary forces of one side of the fixed support to another side. Single expansion joint can take six degrees of movements (Axial, Lateral, Transverse and their respective rotational movements). This results in reduced number of expansion joints apart from acting as excellent isolation joints. Also, since they do not transmit reactionary forces, the flange to flange gap is reduced vastly and hence can be installed in reduced flange to flange gap dimensions

Non Metallic Expansion joints shall normally supplied with bolting type arrangements (where the fabric is mounted with fasteners in flanges). However the end connections are designed as per customer requirement like welded ends or with flanged connections.
